What is it like to be Hypnotized?
A trance state is something that you allow, it is not something that is done to you. More than likely you have experienced a version of a trance-like state in your day-to-day life. Imagine a time when driving, listening to music, and a song comes on that evokes a strong memory. Becoming engaged with the memory, you drive past your exit. At no point were you out of control, but for a while, your attention was deeply focused elsewhere. We will work together to achieve the same inner focus, but at a much deeper level. At all times you are aware of where you are, and that simply opening your eyes will bring you fully awake.
Nearly everyone CAN be hypnotized, it is simply a matter of what level of inner focus you will allow. Your mind is a beautiful and protective instrument. It is perfectly natural for it to "intrude" on the session ("This is not real"; "This is your imagination"). When this happens (and it WILL), I will ask you to take a breath, relax and let the thought drift away. I will remind your active, protective mind that it doesn't matter if it is real or imagination, it is all simply an experience that provides you with information. In most cases, the client actually falls into a deeper trance state once the mind is re-assured that it can rest its vigilance.
